Research of Hidden Portraiture

Hidden:
Concealed; Obscure; Covert; Lost.
Portraiture – A picture of a person’s appearance or character:
Portrait; Portrayal; Representation

Hidden Portraiture:
Hidden portraiture is an oxymoron, this is because appearance is normally favouring what can be seen by the eye. However hidden means to mask the truth, so both words unite under a unique banner with a twist of originality. Why? Without the face, one cannot differentiate between one person and another; as their emotion defines them, and their personalities dictate their lives and actions. Removing the faces gives a new perception of the picture, yet still won’t ruin it. This topic is common since 70% of photography is based on portraiture. The contrasts between the words are fascinating as it brings a new aspect to photography.

My Focus:
For my focus I have decided to base all of my work on computer manipulation techniques with obscure and lost portraiture, taking the aspect of emotion from the person.
